No! NO!!!!!! What a fucking asshole! Even though I have some unresolved issues with the local foods movement, it’s a hell of a lot better than Sysco or U.S. Foods. Is this really what suburbanites want? Really? Are you people so daft? Do you really think that “ketchup is a spice”? Good lord.

As a suburbanite who dines frequently with other suburbanites, I can tell you–no. There are many of us who are aware of local foods, interesting spices (and who don’t count ketchup as a spice), and if some restaurateur would figure that out, they’d do well in the suburbs. Sure, there are idiots in the suburbs. There are idiots everywhere. But the old-school classification of us as people who only want mac ‘n’ cheese is a bit dated and a whole lot wrong.
