Tonight’s dinner! My mom was feeling lazy so I pan-fried some crabcakes and tossed together an aioli made of mayo, dijon mustard, honey and lemon juice (with some freshly ground black pepper on top, for good luck). I tried to get all fancy with their presentation but they just weren’t having any of it.
The crabcakes were, in the spirit of single motherhood, frozen. For the sake of convenience we buy boxes of them from the Costco across the river. Which reminds me: once my cousins bought a 40-pack of Bagel Bites from Costco in an attempt to be badasses and ended up eating them all while playing Tony Hawk ProSkater. I tried to be a little classier in this case and ate them while reading a Pottery Barn catalog.
Is there a better way to steal my heart than with tiny fucking crabcakes? Not really.

Crab Cakes are my favorite kind of seafood. I like them so much they are a proper noun.
